These are the questions Los Gatos, Saratoga, Monte Sereno and Campbell homeowners ask us most. If yours isn’t here, call us at (408) 358-6446. A real person from our family-run office answers, day or night.
Calling Us
Will someone actually answer if I call at night or on a weekend?
Yes. Simply Green Plumbing answers its own phone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. You reach our family-run office in Los Gatos, not an answering service or a national call center.
Do you charge extra for nights, weekends or holidays?
No. We don’t charge extra for emergency calls. A burst pipe at 2 am gets the same honest treatment as a scheduled visit.
How fast can you get to my house?
Our shop is on Capri Drive in Los Gatos, so we’re a short drive from most homes we serve. Most calls are handled the same day, and we give you an honest arrival window on the phone before you commit to anything.
What should I do while I wait for the plumber?
If water is running where it shouldn’t, close the shutoff valve at the fixture or the main water shutoff for the house. If a water heater is leaking, close the cold-water valve on top of it. If you smell gas, leave the house and call PG&E first, then call us. Not sure where your main shutoff is? Our guide to finding your main water shutoff walks you through it.
Price and Honesty
Can you give me a price over the phone?
For most jobs, no, and we think that’s the honest answer. Two clogs or two leaks can look the same on the phone and be very different jobs. We come out, look at the problem, explain what we found, and give you one clear price before any work starts.
How do I know you won’t sell me something I don’t need?
We show you what we found, often with photos or camera video, and explain your options in plain English. If a repair is enough, we’ll tell you. You approve the price before we begin, and there’s no pressure to decide on the spot.
Should I repair or replace my water heater?
If the tank is under about 8 to 10 years old and the problem is a part, like a thermostat or valve, repair usually makes sense. If the tank itself is leaking, it has to be replaced. We’ll give you a straight recommendation either way. See our water heater service page for more.
Common Problems
Why did my drain clog again after it was cleared?
Clearing a drain opens a path through the clog, but if tree roots, grease buildup or a sagging or cracked pipe caused it, it can come back. When a drain keeps backing up, we can run a camera down the line to show you what’s causing it, then explain the options, from hydro flushing to a pipe repair.
Is a leaking water heater an emergency?
It can be. A slow drip from a fitting can usually wait for a scheduled visit. Water pooling under the tank can mean the tank is failing. Close the cold-water supply to the heater and call us at (408) 358-6446, and we’ll tell you how urgent it really is.
My house still has its original pipes. Should I be worried?
Many homes in Los Gatos, Saratoga and Campbell were built before the 1980s with galvanized steel water lines, which rust from the inside and slowly lose pressure. Not every older system needs replacing right away. We’ll look at yours and tell you honestly whether a repair, a partial repipe or a whole-house repipe makes sense.
Tree roots keep getting into my sewer line. What are my options?
Mature trees are part of what makes our towns beautiful, and their roots find their way into older sewer lines. We start by looking at the line with a camera, then match the fix to the problem, from clearing and flushing to a trenchless repair that avoids digging up your yard.
