Reasons Why Gas Lines Need Repair
Gas lines get corroded over time and may start to leak. Aging, improper installation, and inclement weather can cause lines to rust, break or crack. This can lead to gas leaks. It’s important to address gas leaks immediately to avoid further damage to your health or property.
Although it’s a colorless vapor that you cannot see, there are signs that you could have a gas leak. A strong, distinct, sulfur-like or rotten egg smell.
- A hissing noise coming from a gas line.
- Dead grass or plants around the locations of a gas pipe.
- Higher gas bill
- Feeling of dizziness or headaches
- Pilot light constantly blows out
If you notice any of these, DO NOT use any electrical appliances. Open windows and leave the premises. Then call Simply Green right away to inspect your home to locate the source of the leak and repair it.

From our Google reviews
“I hired Russell and his crew to extend a natural gas line into a new patio and also do some outdoor and indoor water plumbing work. Out of all the contractors I interviewed, Russell was the most detailed and took took the time to explain every aspect of the install, the various options and reasons why he recommended different approaches, even before I hired him. …”

“My house was built in 1925 and through the years many repairs were just enough or over time just worn out. So the fact that the house needed to have the gas lines replaced - re-pipe - was no surprise. The Simply Green Team came to my house and crawled around underneath and took pictures to show me the state the pipes. …”

Frequently Asked Questions
I smell gas. What should I do?
Leave the building immediately, do not flip switches or create sparks, and call PG&E or 911 from outside. Once the utility has made the scene safe, we can locate and repair the leak and get your appliances back online.
Do you run new gas lines for appliances and outdoor living?
Yes. New lines and extensions for ranges, dryers, water heaters, fireplaces, patio heaters, fire pits, and BBQs. Gas work is pressure-tested and done to code by a licensed contractor (CA License 943556).
How do you test for a gas leak?
We isolate the system and pressure-test it, then pinpoint leaks with detection equipment. After the repair the line is re-tested and inspected before the gas is turned back on. No shortcuts on gas.
Can you convert or upgrade a gas line for a tankless water heater?
Often, yes. Tankless units frequently need a larger gas supply than the old tank heater. We size the line correctly for the appliance as part of the installation so it performs the way it should.
