What a Century of Add-Ons Does to Plumbing

Layered pipe and mystery leaks

It is common to find 1940s galvanized spliced to 1970s copper spliced to PEX from a recent remodel, all in one house. The joints between eras are where leaks start and where water pressure quietly dies. Before we cut anything open, we trace what is actually there, so the fix lands in the right place the first time.

Repipes done in stages

A full repipe all at once is not always necessary. In many of these homes we replace the worst runs first, usually whatever galvanized is left, and map out the rest so it can be done in planned stages. That keeps the cost manageable and spares you from opening every wall in a house where access is already tight.

Drains on steep lots

Drain and sewer lines here drop downhill fast, cleanouts are often buried or were never installed, and when a line clogs, water shows up in places that make no obvious sense. We locate the runs, add cleanouts where they are missing, and camera the line so you can see its condition for yourself.

My house has three generations of pipe. Do I need a full repipe?

Not necessarily. We assess what is actually failing, replace the worst sections first, and lay out a staged plan for the rest. Some homes do need a full repipe, but we tell you that only when the pipe itself says so.

Do you know how the water systems work up here?
